Join Us

The Crosby Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra and all playing members pay an annual subscription. Extra professional players may be brought in to fill gaps and play specialist instruments when needed. We usually have vacancies for all strings and we are keen to recruit in these sections. Brass and woodwind vacancies come around less often for obvious reasons but we are happy to put your name on a waiting list. There is no formal audition and in the first instance we invite those interested in joining to attend rehearsals to see how they get on. Membership is subject to the agreement of the committee.

Membership is by annual subscription of £100, with a reduced rate of £60 for students and brass players (who do not come to all rehearsals). Follow the link to the left for rehearsal details.

Concert dress for performing members is: Ladies - long black; Gentlemen - Dinner jackets with black bow ties.
